The graph represents how many of the panelists have answered the panel's profiling questions, split by the panel's categories.
Quick example: If one of the categories has 10 questions and all panelists answered 2 of these questions, then this category's depth of profiling is 20%.
More advanced example:
FORMULA : (nr. of how many responses were given/ total nr. of possible responses in the category) * 100
To calculate one category :
- Example : the panel has in total 100 active panelists that have been profiled (we exclude the not-profiled panelists)
- We have 3 categories in this panel : food , smoking and gaming.
Food category has 8 questions.
Smoking category has 5 questions.
Gaming category has 20 questions.
No matter what type of questions are used, one response = the question has been answered or not.
Multiple-answer questions count as one response, if at least one answer has been selected. Even if more than one answer has been selected in the multiple-answer questions, it still count it as one response.
Food category :
HOW TO DO THIS:
– count how many possible answers you could get if all panelists would answer all questions in this category ( total nr. of active panelists * total nr. of questions in this category )
– count how many questions have been actually answered
CALCULATION:
– In our food category, we have 100 panelists * 8 questions = 800 maximum nr. of answers we could get in this category
– In our food category, we counted from the database that 258 questions have been answered
– So (258/800)*100 = 32.25% of the panelists have answered at least one question from the Food category
To calculate average depth of profiling for the panel do a weighted average.
